Runes - Writing From
History
Mannaz
Runes.

An alphabet from
history, prehistory almost.

There are many ascribed
formats of runes, Celtic,
Egyptian, Saxon, Norse to
name but a few.

Which are the "Real"
runes - for this you must
do your own research as I
am not a scholar here,
just a small Glasgow
woman with many
interests.

As I make no claim to
being a teller of fortunes
or one who can see the
future, anything you
derive or define from this
section of the site you
bear full and sole
responsibility for.
In the words
of Burns, as he
wrote from the heart.

Scots, wha hae wi' Wallace bled,
Scots, wham Bruce has aften led,
Welcome to your gory bed,
Or to victorie.

Now's the day, and now's the hour;
See the front o' battle lour;
See approach proud Edward's power,
Chains and slaverie.

Wha would be a traitor-knave?
Wha can fill a coward's grave?
Wha sae base as be a Slave?
Let him turn and flie:

Wha for Scotland's king and law,
Freedom's sword will strongly draw,
Free-man stand, or free-man fa',
Let him follow me.

By Oppression's woes and pains!
By your Sons in servile chains!
We will drain our dearest veins,
But they shall be free!

Lay the proud Usurpers low!
Tyrants fall in every foe!
Liberty's in every blow!
Let us Do - or Die!!
!

Choose your destiny.
Note: Runes have been included in this site for a couple of reasons - firstly they were the ancient Norse
and have also been claimed to be the ancient Celtic form of writing, and secondly just because I happen
to have a personal interest there. Please note - all runic items on this website are for education,
dissemination of information and enjoyment / entertainment only.
Mannaz symbolizes the Self. It indicates that
the starting point for the being under whom
this rune appears will always be the self. Like
water, it's essence is change, flowing, as if
stagnant it becomes undesirable. As long as
a proper relationship with self exists, all other
things are possible for those impacted by this
symbol, however those so reflected should
be moderate, kind, thoughtful and
considerate, as they will often be gifted with
talents far surpassing the ordinary, and
regardless of the merit, modesty is always
called for. Those so marked should always
simply attempt to live the ordinary life

symbolizes the Self and the less altruistic
aspects of the self. It indicates that the
starting point for the being under whom this
rune appears will always be the self. Like
water, which is stagnant  it becomes
undesirable. It is a time to recenter and locate
a proper relationship with self. As you will
often be gifted with talents far surpassing the
ordinary, you may well now find those talents
stifled, and regardless of the merit, modesty
is always called for.
