Runes - Writing From
History
Kano
Runes.

An alphabet from
history, prehistory almost.

There are many ascribed
formats of runes, Celtic,
Egyptian, Saxon, Norse to
name but a few.

Which are the "Real"
runes - for this you must
do your own research as I
am not a scholar here,
just a small Glasgow
woman with many
interests.

As I make no claim to
being a teller of fortunes
or one who can see the
future, anything you
derive or define from this
section of the site you
bear full and sole
responsibility for.
In the words
of Burns, as he
wrote from the heart.

Scots, wha hae wi' Wallace bled,
Scots, wham Bruce has aften led,
Welcome to your gory bed,
Or to victorie.

Now's the day, and now's the hour;
See the front o' battle lour;
See approach proud Edward's power,
Chains and slaverie.

Wha would be a traitor-knave?
Wha can fill a coward's grave?
Wha sae base as be a Slave?
Let him turn and flie:

Wha for Scotland's king and law,
Freedom's sword will strongly draw,
Free-man stand, or free-man fa',
Let him follow me.

By Oppression's woes and pains!
By your Sons in servile chains!
We will drain our dearest veins,
But they shall be free!

Lay the proud Usurpers low!
Tyrants fall in every foe!
Liberty's in every blow!
Let us Do - or Die!!
!

Choose your destiny.
Note: Runes have been included in this site for a couple of reasons - firstly they were the ancient Norse
and have also been claimed to be the ancient Celtic form of writing, and secondly just because I happen
to have a personal interest there. Please note - all runic items on this website are for education,
dissemination of information and enjoyment / entertainment only.
Kano is the rune associated with opening of
new ways, fire and the torch. It is claimed to
dispel darkness, to put light into some part of
your life that has been needing this.

Kano is the rune for the Dawn of Life, the
morning of your activities, one of the thirteen
cycle runes, Kano offers this protection: The
more light you have the better you can see
what is trivial and outmoded in your own life.
Relationships may flower and bloom under
this rune.
If you have been operating in the dark, now
you have the light to see that the patient on
the table is yourself.
Reversed, or Merkstave / Widdershins:

Gladly give up the old, for there will be a
darkening in some form of relationship, you
will need to develop inner stability to see
your ship through the troubled waters that lie
ahead.
