Runes - Writing From
History
Haglaz
Runes.

An alphabet from
history, prehistory almost.

There are many ascribed
formats of runes, Celtic,
Egyptian, Saxon, Norse to
name but a few.

Which are the "Real"
runes - for this you must
do your own research as I
am not a scholar here,
just a small Glasgow
woman with many
interests.

As I make no claim to
being a teller of fortunes
or one who can see the
future, anything you
derive or define from this
section of the site you
bear full and sole
responsibility for.
In the words
of Burns, as he
wrote from the heart.

Scots, wha hae wi' Wallace bled,
Scots, wham Bruce has aften led,
Welcome to your gory bed,
Or to victorie.

Now's the day, and now's the hour;
See the front o' battle lour;
See approach proud Edward's power,
Chains and slaverie.

Wha would be a traitor-knave?
Wha can fill a coward's grave?
Wha sae base as be a Slave?
Let him turn and flie:

Wha for Scotland's king and law,
Freedom's sword will strongly draw,
Free-man stand, or free-man fa',
Let him follow me.

By Oppression's woes and pains!
By your Sons in servile chains!
We will drain our dearest veins,
But they shall be free!

Lay the proud Usurpers low!
Tyrants fall in every foe!
Liberty's in every blow!
Let us Do - or Die!!
!

Choose your destiny.
Robert Bruce - I
Note: Runes have been included in this site for a couple of reasons - firstly they were the ancient Norse
and have also been claimed to be the ancient Celtic form of writing, and secondly just because I happen
to have a personal interest there. Please note - all runic items on this website are for education,
dissemination of information and enjoyment / entertainment only.
Haglaz symbolizes raw elemental power, arriving
in the form of disruption and is associated with
the weather phenomenon of Hail. It indicates that
great change is about to be encountered, perhaps
involving freedom, liberation or invention, often
the degree and aspect of change can be
discerned by those runes accompanying this
symbol in any multi rune reading. It does give the
recipient notice however that the events about to
unfold are most certainly outwith their control.
This rune, Haglaz, is also known as the great
awakener, the starting point for the being under
whom this rune appears will be akin to
awakening from a great sleep. This is a time to
cultivate the inner strength that each of us
possesses.
