Runes - Writing From
History
Ehwaz
Runes.

An alphabet from
history, prehistory almost.

There are many ascribed
formats of runes, Celtic,
Egyptian, Saxon, Norse to
name but a few.

Which are the "Real"
runes - for this you must
do your own research as I
am not a scholar here,
just a small Glasgow
woman with many
interests.

As I make no claim to
being a teller of fortunes
or one who can see the
future, anything you
derive or define from this
section of the site you
bear full and sole
responsibility for.
In the words
of Burns, as he
wrote from the heart.

Scots, wha hae wi' Wallace bled,
Scots, wham Bruce has aften led,
Welcome to your gory bed,
Or to victorie.

Now's the day, and now's the hour;
See the front o' battle lour;
See approach proud Edward's power,
Chains and slaverie.

Wha would be a traitor-knave?
Wha can fill a coward's grave?
Wha sae base as be a Slave?
Let him turn and flie:

Wha for Scotland's king and law,
Freedom's sword will strongly draw,
Free-man stand, or free-man fa',
Let him follow me.

By Oppression's woes and pains!
By your Sons in servile chains!
We will drain our dearest veins,
But they shall be free!

Lay the proud Usurpers low!
Tyrants fall in every foe!
Liberty's in every blow!
Let us Do - or Die!!
!

Choose your destiny.
Note: Runes have been included in this site for a couple of reasons - firstly they were the ancient Norse
and have also been claimed to be the ancient Celtic form of writing, and secondly just because I happen
to have a personal interest there. Please note - all runic items on this website are for education,
dissemination of information and enjoyment / entertainment only.
(E: Horse, two horses.) Transportation and
movement are indicated here. This rune may
represent a horse, car, plane, boat or other
vehicle.
It is generally taken to represent movement
and change for the better.
Gradual development and steady progress are
indicated.
Harmony, teamwork, trust and loyalty are but
some of the qualities indicated by the presence
of this symbol.
An ideal marriage or partnership may be
approaching, look well at the issues that arise in
the near future.
Confirmation beyond doubt the meanings of the
runes around it.
Ehwaz Reversed or Merkstave:

This is not really a negative rune. A change is
perhaps craved. Feeling restless or confined in
a situation. Reckless haste, disharmony,
mistrust, betrayal
