An unusual rune, it has it's foundations in the old
Norse God, Loki, the prankster, and messenger.
Dependant upon the supporting cast, this may
bring long sought knowledge, and leave the seeker
truly blessed, however one must always beware the
hidden meanings within the Rune and take care to
be especially aware during meetings, new
connections and chance encounters. Always
remember that any can be the bearer of wisdom,
the scoundrel, the thief, the king or the merchant
can all teach if we but choose to learn.
This is the first of the thirteen runes that make up
the cycle of initiation, those runes which address
directly the need and mechanism of self change.

Reversed, or Merkstave, widdershins if one prefers
can indicate a lack of clarity, failure of perception
and a sense of futility, however, always consider
the learning aspect of this rune, and now be
thoughtful as to the uses of adversity.
